The Berlin Senate has launched a new initiative to support young people in the city and provide them €50 for a night out in Berlin. This includes going to clubs in the capital.
The Senate Department for Culture and Europe in Berlin has launched the Jungendkulkarte. This pre-paid card can be used to pay for entrance to participating clubs and various other cultural activities such as theatre, museums and cinemas, according to DJMag.
Verifying a person’s residence in the city is necessary to get their hands on the card. To find out more and to sign up, click here.
The venues engaged in the initiative include AVA Club, Cassiopeia, Klunkerkranich, Ritter Butzke and SchwuZ.
Starting February 1, the card will be valid until April 30, and non-residents of Germany can get it at various libraries within the city limits.
The Berlin Club Commission, which looks out for a selection of clubs and events in the area, expressed their joy on Instagram. In a post, they wrote: “@jungendkulturkarte.berlin was released today, and we are pleased that clubs are part of it.
The Jungendkulturkarte allows you to go to the opera or museum, but the organization has specific preferences, it was noted.
A new plan has been set into motion to address the mounting difficulties of Berlin’s cultural sector. With the growing cost of living and a high demand for accommodation pushing up rents to unprecedented levels, it is necessary.
Translated by Mixmag, the Berlin Culture Senator Klaus Lederer emphasized the card’s significance in a statement. He declared: “I consider it to be of great importance that all Berliners be able to partake in art and culture.”
The culture card for 18 to 23-year-olds is designed for a young demographic that is just beginning to explore Berlin’s vibrant cultural scene after the current limitations. With this card, we have enabled a few experiences that may not have been doable otherwise.
