Brazillian artists Xique-Xique dropped an album on The Magic Movement in 2021, and out now is an impressive selection of reworks, including versions by Oliver Koletzki, Zoe Reijue, Nutia, Psilosamples, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Niko Schwind, Batu Ozer, Mira and Christopher Schwarzwalder.
Featuring eight new versions – the release ranges from melodic house to downtempo but mainly focuses on Organic House. Each track has a deep atmosphere and flowing percussion infused with intricate melodies.
All of the new reworks are quite dance floor orientated, with Oliver Koletzki’s remix being the most up-tempo on the release. The rest of the tracks are more tailored towards DJs that play a little more downtempo. The album is also suitable for home listening as it’s got cinematic cuts like Niko Schwind’s epic remix, which has an extended intro full of captivating suspense.
Although the album is very well suited to home listening, it seems more likely that DJs will pick through it to select their favourites, and there is so much to choose from that there is definitely something for everyone.
Many people will also feel the need for the full package as there is so much quality that it’s hard to pick out favourites if Organic House is your vibe.
Oliver Koletzki is probably the most recognisable artist to feature a remix, but it’s a pretty star-studded package, and all of the artists are pretty accomplished. Dengue Dengue Dengue, Mira and Christopher Schwarzwalder are just some of the examples that need little introduction.
