The region’s leading mental health charity has partnered with Ninja Tune, Percolate and agencies Paradigm and POLY to deliver a host of guides for organisations, artist managers, employees and freelancers.
MIND has also revealed the beginning of the Mind x Music Podcast, which will begin on 15th June. Panellists include Joe Hastings, head of health and welfare at Help Musicians UK, and co-authors of the “Can Music Make You Sick? Music And Depression” study Sally Anne Gross and Dr. George Musgrave. The supporting music will come from a rotation of POLY & NTS Radio DJs, along with Percolate residents.
In a study conducted by Mind, musicians could be up to three times more likely to suffer from depression than the general public. They established insecure income, difficulty achieving a work/life balance, lack of sleep and access to alcohol and drugs as attributable factors in reduced wellbeing.
