The interactive live streaming platform Twitch has launched an incubator program to support musicians who use the service to stream.
The box-fresh collective has been designed to guide musicians on how to grow their audience, fanbase and reach on Twitch and other platforms. A strategy ‘playbook’ has been made available on how to use the inner workings of Twitch for musical content. The playbook will include support on DJing, tutorials, production insights and more. They’ll also be curating collectives based on “complementary backgrounds”. Once you’ve made progress in the collective, you’ll be eligible for advanced promo and discovery within the platform itself – almost like unlocking a rewards section, if you will.
Artists who currently do not use Twitch services are also invited to apply and join the collective. The new program is backed by Discord, Amazon Music, Rolling Stone, Distrokid and others.
