The International Music Summit is one of the leading voices within electronic music, focusing on culture and education. They have now announced a momentous online series of digital discussions called ‘The Big Questions’.
The series consists of ten parts, hosted by BBC Radio 1’s very own Pete Tong and Jaguar, in partnership with Pioneer DJ, Beatport, shesaid.so and the Association for Electronic Music (AFEM).
Pete Tong and Jaguar will speak with influential industry figures, artists, and thought leaders providing a series of impactful and topical conversations on hard-hitting issues within electronic music, co-curated by shesaid.so – the global independent community of women and gender minorities in the music industry.
Beatport will stream the ten-part monthly series live, and each part will bring two key thought leaders in to discuss in detail vital subjects, followed by the expert analysis presented by AFEM, highlighting key takeaways from the discussions, next action steps to move forward, and best practices for the wider industry.
IMS wants the global electronic music community to provide their input on who they wish to appear as guest speakers to discuss these important topics. You can do this by making suggestions via IMS social media platforms, and the IMS website and feedback the public provides will help shape the curatorial direction of the series.
From there, IMS will then select a balanced and diverse line-up for the series, with the selected speakers reflecting upon and analysing the issues and challenges that face our industry post-COVID, aiming to provoke thought and a pathway to recovery.
