Technics celebrates 50 years of the SL-1200 with seven limited edition colours

Since first appearing in 1972, Technics’ SL-1200 has been considered one of the best record playing options on the commercial market – used by DJs and professionals globally. 

Hailed for its unwavering reliability, versatility and durability, the SL-1200 still to this day is the first-choice option for some of the biggest names in electronic music. Quite astonishingly, since its inception, it has sold over 3.5 million units throughout the last half-century – an accomplishment that many audio hardware manufacturers would be proud to boast. 

To celebrate 50 years of premium quality turntable production, Technics has released a series of seven new limited edition coloured models of the SL-1200 MK7. 

As you may know, the SL-1200 doesn’t come cheap, and for around $1,099, you can pick up a new model in Black, Red, Blue, White, Green, Yellow or Beige. 

Each unit has an engraved serial number, a limited Technics slipmat featuring a golden logo, and a golden anodised arm to give it a unique finish.
