The new tier called Spotify Plus is a new $0.99c subscription point currently being piloted in the USA region; It will still include adverts while allowing users unlimited track skips and on-demand listening. Essentially combining elements of the existing free and premium subscriptions.
Spotify’s current free account does not allow to skip more than six tracks in sixty minutes. The new Plus tier doesn’t impose any limits per hour, and users are free to pick what songs they wish to listen to instead of being only able to shuffle within albums or playlists.
The only drawback is that adverts will still be integrated. Spotify did confirm to The Verge magazine the tier is in the trial period, and nothing has been finalised concerning pricing and features.
