Music streaming platform, Spotify, has launched a new ‘DJ mixes’ section, allowing DJs to upload full-length sets to their profiles. The feature is available over eight territories: UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.
The new format launches with mixes from AmyElle, Adam Beyer, Noisia, Shingo Nakamara and, MOTi. It has not yet been clarified just how Spotify’s monetisation process will work for artists or who can upload mixes to the platform. With the service only being given the green light over eight territories, it’s likely to be a soft launch with more details due to be revealed.
The news comes after Apple Music recently shared with the world that artists and DJs will be paid for their content on the platform. The development will allow users to grow their fanbase and share more of their work with a new pool of users.
