Spektre are a duo of UK-based techno artists who, for over a decade, have released peak-time tracks that have rocked dance floors worldwide.
Their style is dark and driving with pounding percussion, and they also run their record label, Respekt, which shares the same sound as its owners.
It’s not often that Spektre features original music on their record label, but once or twice a year, they grace Respekt with an EP of original music, and their new ‘Bring Me Fire’ EP is the latest example.
Bring Me Fire features three original tracks, opening with “The Unseen Path”, based around a compelling vocal that states, “Follow the path you can’t see”. Its hard-hitting percussion and filter-swept synths provide a vigorous backing track filled with upbeat momentum.
“Bring Me Fire” is the second track, and it’s got a pulsating lead synth layered with industrial percussion that leads to an epic breakdown with an uplifting vocal and a menacing bassline.
“Suspended in a Sunbeam” brings the release to a close in a dramatic fashion, as it changes up the mood with uplifting melodies that have sunrise vibes. Anyone who has danced through the night at a festival only to see the sun come up while still on the dance floor would love to have this track playing at that moment.
