Highly regarded as one of the most prolific and genre-influencing labels on the planet, Reinier Zonneveld’s revered Filth on Acid has seen a steady flow of forward-thinking releases in recent years. Featuring Carl Cox, UMEK, Julian Jeweil, Popof, Ramiro Lopez, among others, the imprint continues to set the bar high with the highest quality releases.
Making his way back to Filth on Acid following the largely successful release of ‘Atlas’ earlier in the year, Frenchman Space 92 delivers a three-punch combo of blistering Techno bombs on ‘The Game’ EP.
‘The Game’ opens the release with a flurry of dark and driving energy. Harnessing a sinister feel and ripping synth lines that progressively build in stature throughout the track, its combo of weighty drums and ethereal soundscaping make for a peak time weapon of choice.
‘Hydra’ comes next, with rattling percs and rave-inspired melodies to match its menacing persona. Another stadium-sized track with ominous energy and racy rhythmics to keep your blood pumping and your feet stomping.
Closing the release, ‘Populate Mars’ comes with more ethereal flavours and firm intent. Melding elements of the two previous tracks together for one final killer blow, its piercing hat grooves and slamming kicks set a precedent for a progressively climactic array of melodic layers that ensue beyond.
