Sankeys returns to Manchester’s VW Basement

Sankeys will descend upon the new Victoria Warehouse Basement for a special ‘Back to the Future’ summer series of events to recreate the electric vibe of yesteryear.

As announcements for summer begin to heat up, this one is one of the hottest yet… Sankeys returns home to Manchester!

Since the closure of Sankeys Club in 2017, we have seen a few attempts at Sankeys branded tours over the years to try and keep the name alive, managed by various promoters, but none of which really captured the essence of what Sankeys was about.

Now, with the brand being taken over by some of the most successful promoters during Sankeys peak years, this return is set to capture what we have all missed so much when Sankeys left us and gives those who missed out last time around the chance to live the Sankeys experience.

The VW Basement has been kitted out with a brand new sound system, two rooms with low ceilings to give it an intimate feel that Sankeys became so renowned for, and why the club won the World’s Best Club Award back in 2010.

The opening party kicks off on Friday 9th July; Ep.1 line-up includes master selector Magda renowned for her seminal ‘She’s A Dancing Machine’ release on Richie Hawtin’s label Minus, Oxia, a name which transcends status in electronic music and widely renowned for his classic ‘Domino’, along with other legends and Sankeys regulars Reboot, Ellesse, OD Muzique and Jimmy Switch
