Ricardo Villalobos unveils 40-minute-long remix for Ela Minus & DJ Python

Ricardo Villalobos has remixed Ela Minus and DJ Python‘s EP ‘♡’ (or ‘Corazon’), released in September of 2022 on Smugglers Way.

At 53 minutes, the remix pack includes two extended reworks of ‘Kiss U’ and ‘Abril Lluvias Mil’, the latter being a long 40 minutes.

DJ Python, a US producer, states that Villalobos has been significant to him since his teenage years. He expresses feeling too privileged to work with the renowned producer, whom he considers to be the Michael Jordan of music.

In September, Ela Minus released a 28-minute extended play record of six tracks, three of which were instrumental pieces. It was highly regarded for being “intimate and vulnerable” and delving into the concept of love as a “radical practice”. You can listen to it HERE.

Ela Minus, the Colombian singer-songwriter behind the record, expressed that her goal was for listeners to “feel like [she] [was] holding onto them” and to find a sense of belonging in her EP.

In July, some 12″ records will be available as part of a limited edition vinyl release of the remixes. Ela Minus expressed her joy by stating, “What can I say? It’s a Ricardo Villalobos remix EP!”

Villalobos recently released a 40-minute rework of ‘Abril Lluvias Mil’, five minutes shorter than his 2016 track ‘Bionic Sad’. Other remixed versions of his songs include the 28-minute version of Mari Kvien Brunvoll’s ‘Everywhere You Go’, and the 32-minute edit of DJ Pierre’s ‘What Is House Muzik’.
