Desiderati 4.7 is the latest release from UMEK’s record label 1605, and it’s a four-track mixed artist EP that features individual cuts by Rebel Boy, Julien Earle, Belocca and Subject32.
Peak time and packing a punch, it’s another explosive techno release from one of the genres most influential record labels, and the imprints last release of 2021.
Each of the tracks has its own flavour, and it’s near impossible to pick out a favourite, as they are all high-quality productions that have a time and place on the dance floor.
Rebel Boy is a 1605 favourite after his collaboration on the label with Sam WOLFE charted for many weeks inside the sales charts of leading download stores such as Beatport. He has also worked with other labels such as Respekt and Riot Recordings. His track “Pyschosis” is typical of the hard-hitting and enthralling style he is known for.
Julien Earle is well known on YouTube for his production tips videos and has proven his studio prowess with previous tracks on 1605 along with music featured on other labels such as Say What? and Kraftek. His track “Chaos Physics” has got stripped back percussion and building suspense underpinned by a chunky kick drum.
Belocca is a Hungarian artist who is well-known for the releases on his own label Mainground Music but has also featured on others ranging from Fe Chrome to AnalyticTrail. His track “Oscillate” has a hypnotic groove with ominous vocals stabs and electric synth lines.
Subject32 is a brand-new artist who is making his first-ever release with a track on this EP called “First Contact” that’s all about the tranquillity of the spine-tingling breakdown. It’s a track with great contrast, as the intensely dark percussion sections deliver vigorous energy.
