It was April’s Fool Day!
Cavalry police, with water cannons and teargas, had to intervene to disperse the crowd formed at the park even though the organisers made a statement a couple of days earlier announcing it was a hoax, Reuters reported.
It was called “La Boum” (The Party), the event posted on Facebook, and that generated the interest of almost 70.000 people. It promised 100+ DJs, among all superstars Calvin Harris and now-separated duo Daft Punk reuniting for a special one-off gig.

It was of course war of comments on Facebook, with someone saying:
“We tried to bring many solutions to our government long before the events of Cambre’s park. But none of them was listened to! Once again, La Baum is a call to our leaders to take more consistent action and show them how huge our distress is! La Baum is the result of a mismanaged crisis. Have you seen any reports that say La Baum was a cluster? Because I don’t! Do you have serious studies that prove that the virus is actively circulating during major outside events? None! We young people would like to live our youth… Finally, what’s left of it!”
