Pinterest, the platform for mood boards, has recently published an annual report forecasting that “rave culture and fashion” could be popular in 2021.
The report stated that superfoods, origami, orange, and puppy pool parties could be on the rise and predicted a possible increase in rave fashion.
Pinterest Predicts has declared that the upcoming year will be dominated by rave culture, with a 185% increase in searches for “house music outfits” and an extraordinary 250% surge in searches for “Berlin rave fashion”.
Pinterest prognosticates that Generation Z and Millennials returning to life from the more than two years of lockdown will lead to their invasion of nightclubs, warehouses, and house parties worldwide. Additionally, outfits inspired by techno, rave fashion, and house music are becoming increasingly popular.
The report also revealed an increase of 35% in queries for “rave party aesthetic,” a rise of 60% for “techno style”, and a remarkable 115% surge in searches for “music mixer.”
Pinterest is said to have a user base of 445 million people globally and claims that it has accurately foreseen the outcomes of its four-yearly Pinterest Predictions in the past four years 80% of the time.
It is said that Gen Z and Millennials are rekindling their passion for the atmosphere and fashion associated with rave culture. They are looking for places of acceptance where they can be unrestrained and dress as they wish.
This year Pinterest has reported on 27 distinct trends, including rave apparel. In addition, there are other trends such as “primal workouts”, “romcom core”, and the widespread “walk-in showers”.
Pinterest asserts that the methodology behind its trend forecasting is based on “several months of experienced assessment”. According to the platform, trends on Pinterest have a 21% longer lifespan than those found on other websites.
