A new overnight sleeper train has been announced, due to start operating on 23rd May 2023, opening another avenue of travel for those wanting to explore the German capital and all of its rich culture – especially the incredible electronic music scene.
The perfect choice for travellers wanting an alternative to air flight, you will be able to hop on the Eurostar at London St. Pancras and wake up in Berlin the very next day.
Although a small interchange is needed in the Belgian capital of Brussels, which leaves just enough time to grab a pint of their famous blonde beer, the round trip from London to Berlin offers something slightly more relaxed than the traditional airport route.
From Brussels onwards, the route passes through Amsterdam and Hanover before arriving in Berlin the following morning. From 2024, there are plans for the route to extend beyond the German capital and pass through Dresden before finishing in Prague.
In terms of hospitality, the Brussels to Berlin train comes with a variety of options depending on the ticket you purchase. Choices range from a seat in a six-person pod right through to your own sleeper compartment with breakfast in bed – perfect for fuelling you up for a day in the German capital.
Pricing for the Brussels to Berlin stretch starts from €49 for a seat in a six-person compartment. For €79, you can get a couchette (a seat that converts into a bed), or you can splash €109 for a sleeper compartment.
Tickets for the overnight sleeper train from Brussels to Berlin will be available from here on 20th February. You will also need an additional Eurostar ticket for the London to Brussels portion of the journey.
For those of you that have been putting off a quick trip to one of Europe’s best nightlife hotspots, it’s never been easier!
