Moscow’s mayor Sergey Sobyanin has announced, on Wednesday morning, that curfew restrictions on the capital’s clubs and bars will be lifted, RT writes.
Previous rules required all business to close between 11 pm and 6 am to limit the spread of coronavirus among the nightlife but, with lower cases being reported every day, Sobyanin said that economic recovery could begin, with bars, restaurants, clubs, and bowling alleys to be allowed to reopen with anti-covid measures.
Talking to Muscovites, the mayor said: “The situation with the spread of coronavirus infection continues to improve. The number of new infections did not exceed two or three thousand per day during the past week”.
Sobyanin continued saying that the number of people being admitted to hospitals daily had dropped by a thousand and that, for the first time since mid-June, 50% of hospital beds were free.
He concluded: “The timing and stages of lifting the remaining restrictions will be announced later. And please remember that the likelihood of contracting the coronavirus, although reduced, still exists. The fight is not over yet. We still have to be careful.”
