In a recent interview with Noudiari, the renowned Space Ibiza club owner Pepe Rosello confirmed our wildest dreams. Space Ibiza is set to return to the magical white isle of Ibiza, and before 2022!
Space opened its doors in 1986 and grew from a small music venue into a world-renowned dance music institution, winning the best club in the world accolade a staggering 11 times.
It had to close its doors in October 2016 due to the expiration of the site’s lease after 27 years of amazing memories, throwing a closing party that made the history books. The building has since been taken over and transformed into Hï Ibiza, sister venue to open-air club Ushuaïa located in Playa d’en Bossa.
The interview with the Ibiza-based newspaper didn’t confirm much more about the specifics of the new Space Ibiza club, but when asked if he could be interested in taking over the venue ‘Heart’, soon up for grab, Pepe praised the club, saying
“They deserved better luck. I can’t fault anything about Heart. What you need is that the Ibizan people step there. The place is glory, and it is in the right place.”

Pepe did also confirm it will be before 2022 but not during the 2021 season, so potentially we could be looking at an opening out of season at the end of 2021.
He then talked about his lifelong friendship with ‘King of Techno’ Carl Cox but still leaving a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding the new project. He said he did all his projects with Carl and that he will always count on him.
Pepe also spoke about what made Space Ibiza so successful the first time around, in which he made no secret of his dislike for the VIP culture, which has engulfed the Ibiza island in the past 10-15 years.
For certain, the new Space Ibiza will be solely about the music, and this is something we all cannot wait for.
