Laroz – Miombo EP [Sol Selectas]

With tracks released on labels such Diynamic and Souq, Melbourne based producer, Laroz, also known as Laroz Camel Rider, returns on Sol Selectas with two originals influenced by his love for African music, managing to transport the listener to those sun swept lands. Both tracks are accompanied by remixes from Rodrigo Gallardo and Sam Shure.

“Miombo” opens the release with enchanting melodies of a snake charmer, and his desert vibes are complimented by some stunning vocals. Sam Shure’s remix of Miombo works in some extra percussion and builds a steady suspense before the trippy breakdown warps the percussion into psychedelic textures. 

“Massawa Feat. Faytinga” is the second of the two originals, and it’s on a deeper and more intimate vibe. Gentle vocals and delicate synths and underpinned by the gentle sway of the shuffling percussion rhythms. Rodrigo Gallardo drops the tempo of Massawa to create a chugging version that’s got just a hint of acid.
