The UK Labour party’s deputy leader Angela Rayner ditched politics for the weekend, instead performing at a battle of the DJs charity event in Manchester.
During the event to raise money for the homeless in Manchester, Rayner teed off against fellow MPs and local mayors Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram in a head-to-head soundclash.
The event, which raised over £20,000 for A Bed Every Night, a scheme aiming to house rough sleepers in the region and support them, took place at the home of Manchester’s The Warehouse Project, Depot Mayfield.
Rayner stepped into the booth to drop N-Trance’s ‘Set You Free’ and several other uplifting dance cuts during her set in front of several hundred people on the dancefloor. She later posted a clip on Instagram saying: “I just can’t be doing a DJ set without a bit of Oldham’s very own N-Trance!”
