DJ and BBC R1 broadcaster Jaguar has created a two-part podcast series examining gender imbalances in the UK’s dance music scene.

In the podcast ‘Under The Lights: Being A Woman, Trans Or Non-Binary Person In UK Dance Music’, several renowned electronic music figures have provided their input, including Annie Mac, The Blessed Madonna, Jamz Supernova, Girls Don’t Sync and TAAHLIAH. Annie Mac, Jamz Supernova, Girls Don’t Sync, and TAAHLIAH are among them.

In honour of International Women’s Day, a documentary was released on UTOPIA Talks, Jaguar’s multi-disciplinary platform, which debuted in 2020. Jaguar recently revealed the commencement of UTOPIA’s record label with Van Damn’s new single.

Regarding the current endeavour, Jaguar expressed: “I’m incredibly proud to be bringing out these podcast episodes with Stak this International Women’s Day! Since 2020 I’ve been on a journey where I’ve found my purpose: to champion minorities and give opportunities to those who really need it. I want to use my platform to help people and explore how we can create positive changes to reach a utopian world.

“Equality and representation is so important to me. It’s part of my identity as a mixed race and queer woman navigating the world.”
