The HE.SHE.THEY team have built a reputation as an inclusive party, record label and clothing brand. Now they have launched their social network hub alongside a messaging app.
The app aims to be a “safer place to chat, make new friends and even date online.” says co-founders Steven Braines and Sophia Kearney. It will be achieved through checks and verifications made by real people rather than automated through software.
In addition, the app will offer treats including, discounts and early ticket releases to HE.SHE.THEY parties, plus exclusive clothing content for app members.
The community will adopt a zero-tolerance policy on homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, disablism, body shaming and racism. Users will be able to report hate speech directly to a person if they believe such an act to take place on the app.
Steven Braines went on to say:
“With diversity, inclusion and community, at the heart of everything that HE.SHE.THEY. does, we wanted to disrupt the social media space as we have in the arts. We all know social media sites and dating apps can be toxic with anonymous trolls ready to spit hate, but we also know that these apps can bring many positives if you can lessen the negatives.”
Both the hub and app are available on iOS and Android, with both free to sign up. Register here.
