After weeks of disappointment and frustration for holidaymakers, finally, some good news as Ibiza is added to the UK government’s green travel list.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps yesterday (24th) confirmed that several new destinations had been added to the hallowed ‘green list’, with Ibiza and the Balearic islands among the countries now included.
From the 30th of June at 4 am, anyone entering the UK from Ibiza and the other destinations on the list will not be required to quarantine but will still be required to take a COVID-19 test before travelling. You are still required to book and pay for a COVID-19 test on arrival back to the UK, as well as completing a passenger locator form.
It is reported, Jet2 has registered a 3000% surge in booking to the Balearics in the last 24hr.
In the latest update to the UK government’s traffic light system for foreign travel, Ibiza and the Balearic islands join Australia, Barbados, Israel, New Zealand and Gibraltar – also on the UK’s green list.
This evening (25th), Ibiza will host its first outdoor pilot event at the Hard Rock Hotel with a limited attendance of 2,000 people – made up exclusively of key workers on the island. The pilot event data will drive a decision on White Island clubs return with significant restrictions on opening times and dancefloor capacities. These include a 3 am curfew to keep in line with the Spanish Ministry of Health and limitations on dance floor capacities.

Today marks a highly positive milestone in the road to reopening Ibiza, as several clubs and promoters have already revealed plans for later on in the season. Darius Syrossian’s Do Not Sleep event is the latest to announce a closing party at Amnesia in October alongside Cinthie, Patrick Topping and Paul Woolford.
