Due to health concerns, Laurent Garnier has decided to call off all performances until the end of summer.
The renowned French DJ and producer has decided to no longer appear at such festivals as Sonar in Barcelona, Karussel in Copenhagen, and Nuits Sonores in Lyon.
In a post shared to his Instagram account over the weekend, he wrote: “Some things are easier to announce than others. Since I don’t have much choice, I’d rather just throw it out there without too much fuss! Unfortunately for health reasons I have to cancel all my dates until the end of the summer.”
Garnier is coming out with his first collection of music since 2015, ’33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont’, on 25th May, and he remarked: “Of course, fate would have it that my album will soon be released at a time when I won’t be able to share it with you on the dancefloor, but I can assure you that once this is all over, I’ll be back… in force!”
At the start of last month, the 57-year-old made an album announcement saying that he would be ceasing touring after 2024 to keep from becoming a “dusty, old jukebox”.
