Five of London’s best rooftops and terraces for music and parties

Summer is almost upon us. With this in mind, we felt it was high time to exude some positivity and shine some light on things to come over the next few months. Being a strong believer in manifestation – the art of inhaling your dreams and exhaling the execution of them – it is time to have a break from the doom and gloom reporting, and instead, look forward to a feast of music events landing during our peak, sunny season. 

London has always been an amazing place for music in the glorious sunshine; it is blessed with some incredible skyline hotspots and wonderfully themed outdoor areas to party with friends, creating some lifelong memories. 

Here, I have compiled just some of the best terraces and rooftops that the City has to offer when the need to listen to some serious beats in an outdoor setting arises.

Jin Bo Law (14th Floor, Dorsett Hotel, Aldgate)

One of London’s finest elevated spaces. The rooftop bar at The Dorsett Hotel in Aldgate serves up yet more incredible views of the London skyline. You will stumble across many unexpected treasures as you step out from the bar area to the balcony landing. Weekly resident DJs – including London’s rising star, Harty, provide the grooves and join a host of events taking advantage of such a unique and beautiful setting. Fire eaters, snake dancers and more are on show as those house and bar grooves flow through the entirety of your evening. Overall, Jin Bo Law provides a stunning backdrop and soundtrack to match.

Lost In Brixton ( Brixton Village, Brixton)

Brixton has had quite the uprising recently and is now stacked full of trendy bars and buzzing nightlife. At the heart of it all, located by the bustling Brixton market, is ‘Lost in Brixton’. The quirky rooftop venue serves up an eclectic cocktail menu, and it plays host to some of the city’s finest DJ talent. ‘Take a wrong turn to the right place’ is their motto, and this hidden gem certainly is the right location for authentic grooves and scenery to match. The imagination behind the venue is certainly a little whacky with a delightfully themed plot. You can expect appearances from the likes of the famed ‘DJ Taxi’ midweek with an array of curated house music events locked and loaded within the summer schedule. This hotspot oozes vibe and is one for the music heads to lose themselves in of an evening.

Madison Rooftop (One New Change, City of London)

Hailed as ‘Ibiza in the city’, Maddison is a delicious rooftop bar located at the heart of St Paul’s. When you arrive at the Penthouse of One New Change, you will witness breathtaking views of the London skyline. Renowned for its infectious vibe, Madison brings the feel of an Ibiza terrace with headline DJs showcasing that feel-good house music, perfect for summer days and nights. You can expect brunch and early evening events from some of the UK’s most well-respected promoters, such as the ‘Ritual’ movement and DJs throughout the weekly calendar, providing an exciting drinking and musical experience. A real taste of Ibiza, a little closer to home!

Pitch ( 2 Bridge Road, Stratford)

Pitch is a multi-faceted space, a stone’s throw away from Stratford High Street Station. A diverse local beer selection, coupled with tiki cocktails and beats! What more could you want? Expect to find day parties rolling into the early evening with some of London’s finest DJ talent. Pitch has revolutionized the social scene in Stratford. The terrace area has a 400-strong capacity and is packed full of ambition with its musical offering. Interactive activities can also be enjoyed with a mini-golf and table tennis area, the perfect ‘pop up party space’ to settle in for a day of vibey music and fun. Expect wonky disco through to afro-beats and house frequencies to light up your night.

The Cause (Ashley Road, Tottenham)

The Cause is a wonderful space, serving up several different clubbing areas throughout the seasons. Here, we focus on the marvellous terrace area as summer brings a slightly different concept for the venue: sunshine, vibes and incredible outdoor music. Aptly nicknamed – Costa Del Tottenham- the space has hosted some of the world’s finest DJ talent and brand events and brings a palm tree experience to North London! The vibes are built around the DJ booth and an incredible sound system with minimal volume restrictions, perfect for some raving in the sun. The venue has hosted some incredible artists, including the famed ‘The Ghost’, quite a boast.

Narrowing down the selection to just five venues has been a hard task. Variety is the spice of life, and music is the heartbeat of it all! All the listed spaces are dedicated to feeding our souls through music while offering something a little different. We are fully looking forward to the summer months and cannot wait to be back in the dance! Manifest people, manifest!
