Celebrated British artist Norman Quentin Cook, best known as Fatboy Slim, is coming back to Brighton this summer to celebrate two decades since his last renowned Big Beach Boutique event, attended by almost a quarter of a million people.
Yes, you did read that right. Around 250,000 people took to Brighton beach in 2002 for an event that was expected to attract roughly 60,00 attendees. As a result, and due to the lack of capable transportation services available, many thousands of people stayed on the beach and partied into the night.
The Big Beach Boutique 2 is one of the most famous events in the history of electronic music in the UK for obvious reasons. Many older ravers will undoubtedly still gloriously reminisce and tell stories about when Fatboy Slim ‘broke’ Brighton.
As expected, mass excitement has been rife off the back of Fatboy Slim’s announcement that he is bringing The Big Beach Boutique back to East Sussex this summer – although it will be a strictly ticketed event this time around.
The Bromley-born artist broke the news via his social media accounts last week, confirming he will join selected special guests on Brighton beach from 21st-22nd July.
