Iconic London club fabric has issued a lifetime ban to a venue attendee after they posted mocking footage of another clubgoer at the venue.
Following a visit to the club, the attendee tweeted: “Yo, I’ll never be going to fabric again after seeing this,” along with a video of another clubgoer with their shirt off.
fabric was quick to respond to the tweet after the footage started circulating on December 12, tweeting in response, to say: “Great, given this tweet, we’d prefer it if you didn’t come.
“Our club was built on the values of free expression and the freedom to dance and not be judged,” it continued. “We also have a No Photo Policy to protect our dancers’ privacy. Please do the right thing and remove this video,” the tweet concluded.
fabric then followed up with another tweet the following day, advising the Twitterverse that the clubber had been banned for life from the venue.

The online fracas has lead to a widerconversation online about fabric’s door policy, “Would you ever consider a door policy? Every time I’ve been to fabric I’ve felt unsafe as a woman,” one user asked in the comments.
“Lots of leering men that don’t seem to be there for the music, people taking videos, and a generally tense vibe. Amazing lineups and a great club/team but the crowd ruins it for me,” she added.
Live music venues and club spaces are supposed to be a unifying and inclusive space. Although this particular exchange has raised further questions around fabric’s door policy, it’s refreshing to see an influential venue exercising a zero tolerance policy towards any form of hate or bullying.
