To mark the launch of the Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin, CEO Elon Musk hosted a 9000-person rave.
The event had a festival feel to it, featuring live music from techno DJs, most notably the masked minimal techno DJ Boris Brejcha. Plus an epic large-scale stage production and design to host the DJ performances.
Other features of the ‘Giga Fest’ included an impressive lighting set-up, arcade games, giant balloon robot figures, arcade games, vegetarian food stands, Tesla accelerator ride-along, a Ferris wheel and gadgets igniting lightning bolts.
Elon Musk attended the event, even getting on the stage to address the crowd with some German, albeit broken. In his speech, he answered questions about the new factory, Tesla developments and the recently announced GigaBier, which will be sold out of the new Berlin factory.
Musk went on to say:
“We’re aiming to start production in a few months, basically, November or December, and hopefully deliver our first cars in December, but starting production is kind of the easy part. The hard part is reaching volume production.”
Will this rave be the pre-cursor to the mega rave cave Elon Musk asked his Twitter followers about last March:
“Tesla should have a mega rave cave under the Berlin Gigafatory (sic) Y/N”
A resounding 90.2% answered yes, and 18-months later, the Giga Fest rave took place. Stranger things have happened, so watch this space for a Tesla rave cave in Berlin.
