Smashing records and doing it for the girls; we love to see the ladies owning it in the dance music space.
Unless you’ve lived under a rock for the last few months, there’s no doubt you would have come across the undeniably catchy ‘B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)’.
A firm favourite on social media and mainstream radio, Eliza Rose & Interplanetary Criminal’s vocal-led jam officially claimed pole position on the UK Top 40 last week. Perhaps even more impressively, parrying off Britney Spears & Elton John’s ‘Hold Me Closer’ and reigning champ LF System’s ‘Afraid to Feel’ in the process.
As a result, Eliza is the first UK female DJ to hit the #1 spot in 20 years since Sonique’s timeless classic ‘Feel So Good’ in 2002.
Jumping fro #96 to the top spot in just three weeks, ‘B.O.T.A.’ includes a sample of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam’s 1991 anthem ‘Let The Beat Hit ‘Em (LL W:Love rc Mix)’ alongside Eliza’s seemingly unforgettable vocal hook.
