A series of DJ workshop events are launching in 2022, aimed at the deaf community. The programme will teach deaf students how to mix and other DJ skills.
The schedule has been meticulously organised and aimed at a beginner level, so the experience is not required. The first in the series takes place in Brixton on January 6th between 6 PM and 8 PM.
Behind the workshop is Deaf Rave, an organisation that provides “entertainment with music, sign songs and visual performances to an all-inclusive audience, globally and across the UK”, intending to unite people.
Founder Troi ‘DJ Chinaman’ Lee began Deaf Rave as the first and only events organisation dedicated to providing the deaf and hard-of-hearing community a platform to display their love for music.
Deaf Rave has been active for almost two decades now and has been helping the deaf community engage with music. Techniques such as reverberation modelling are used to experience raving.
