As there always is in the world of electronic music, a specific track has been doing the rounds and piquing the interest of Track ID gremlins of the social media world.

Age Of Love wrote and released their most iconic track in 1990. It became a stone-cold dance classic that inspired a whole trance movement that has endured throughout the years.

Three whole decades of reverence have since passed, and the world of Techno has found itself infiltrated with Trance-tinged synth lines ripping through big stadium tracks. With that in mind, it seems only right that now is the time for two of the scenes biggest acts to assemble and churn out a very personal remix of the hugely influential self-titled classic by Age Of Love.

Speaking of the remix, Charlotte and Enrico say: “It’s a very meaningful track for both of us, for various reasons, and it brings back many joyful memories. Remixing such a legendary track was a super fun thing to do, but we noticed how easily and spontaneously we could work together in the studio. We are beyond excited to finally unleash our remix to the world. And this, at a time where the world finally seems to be going back to normal. There is no better time for a New Age Of Love. We’re ready.”

“So, what of the remix,” I hear you say. Well, it’s just as you would come to expect – given the artists behind it. Pounding kicks and rippling bass with the hiss of crisp hats and rising synths – laced with a subtle acidic film. Then enters the celestial uprising; a crescendo of symphonic euphoria driving you into the clouds before smiting you back down into the depths of the Techno underworld – rife with modulating rave-inspired gusto.

In terms of complexity, it’s quite a simplistic approach to remixing a seminal piece of music. But that is the beauty with some tracks, especially pieces like this. They’re already great, and it’s so easy to make them trashy, so the ‘less is more’ approach works perfectly in this sense.

A solid Techno stomper, crossing genres into Trance – enjoyably – in places. You can guarantee this will be in most ‘top Techno tracks’ playlists at the end of the year!
