The iconic British DJ and global house music icon is gearing up for his first production release in over a decade as he joins a roster packed full of talent that includes the likes of Solomun, Maya Jane Coles and The Prodigy. This will be the first track drop since ‘All Roads Lead To The Dancefloor’ landed back in 2011.
Carl celebrated with the obligatory Facebook post, where he talks about the recording process for the album and timelines for the compilation delivery, which currently remains unnamed and is still to be written.
“Super excited to finally be able to share this amazing news… I’ve signed with BMG for my new album. Now I have to make it!”
Before adding.
“I had my first ever single out with BMG many years ago so I couldn’t be more pleased to be signed there as a recording artist. Being around the studio all year during lockdown and digging deep has, I hope, set the foundations that will make the first album something special… Oh yess!”
The deal arrives during a busy period for Cox. Recently, he teamed up with Sensorium Galaxy to produce several shows in immersive VR and followed in the footsteps of the likes of David Guetta and Black Coffee, whilst also launching a new initiative with Waterbear College Of Music – a £15,000 scholarship to invest in one lucky aspiring artist’s musical journey. This is the latest we have heard from Carl Cox since he produced music for Club Ibiza: The Sessions, a five-part series on the streaming service DAZN covering the Spanish football team UD Ibiza. His original track, “Sand, Moon & Stars”, was released by BMG and featured exclusively in the series.
