Café Mambo and the Absolut team up to launch DJ competition

Known for its powerful and idyllic sunset sessions, Café Mambo plays host to some of the world’s best DJs. This contest, which kicked off on the 4th of August, represents an opportunity for amateur DJs to perform on one of the most iconic stages around. 

Billed as a dream Ibiza experience, the competition will offer one lucky winner the opportunity to DJ a sunset set in September. Flights, three nights accommodation, airport transfers and access to the Las Mimosas Spa facilities will all be covered. The winner will also get to bring a friend! 

In addition to the holiday package and set, there will also be a masterclass workshop from one of Mambo’s resident DJs. The winners’ sunset DJ set will be live-streamed online. To enter, participants should upload a 30-minute mix to the Mixcloud platform along with the hashtag #CafeMamboAbsolutDJCompetition. The closing date is the 31st of August, so still plenty of time to get your mix in! The official winner is set to be announced on September the 15th.

MIX PARAMETERS 

• Upload a 30-minute set to Mixcloud.
• Title the mix Café Mambo x Absolut DJ Competition.
• Tag your mix #CafeMamboAbsolutDJCompetition. If you fail to tag it correctly, your mix may be missed. 

THE JUDGING

Entrants will be judged by Café Mambo’s resident DJs, including Jason Bye, Andy Baxter, Danny O, Sara de Araújo. 

Factors taken into consideration will include the number of plays, positive feedback, originality, suitability for a sunset set, track selection, artists ability to use Mixcloud and other social media platforms to promote themselves. 

Mixes must gain over 50 plays to be considered for the shortlist. 

The final decision will be made by Café Mambo, their resident DJs and Mixcloud.
