Berlin Club Commission to award €10k to 40 clubs and collectives

The Berlin Club Commission will reintroduce the Tag Der Clubkultur – ‘Day of Club Culture’ on 3rd October 2021 to celebrate the reopening and Berlin’s club culture being brought back to life.

The initiative was originally launched in 2020; the reintroduction will give 40 clubs and collectives opportunities, each receiving €10,000 to host an event. There will be a panel that will review each application to determine the winners; the panel includes DJ Gigola, Pansy and Whitney Wei, among a whole host of other artists too.

Berlin Club Commission’s statement on Tag Der Clubkultur said:

“While the focus of the day of club culture last year was on clarifying the emergency situation and the importance of Berlin’s clubs and organizers, this year’s activities aim to focus optimism on the revival of Berlin’s club culture.”

Applications are open throughout July, and winners will be selected in September. The commission will also award a special prize for socio-political activism.
