Benjamin Philippe Zulauf returns to his record label Hummingbird by BPZ with a deep tech release featuring four original tracks.
It’s a timeless release with analogue sounds and raw production that gives it a classic feel. Reminiscent of other artists such as Fred P and the late Mike Huckaby, the release has jazzy chords and atmospheric pads that intertwine between the upbeat rhythms of a drum machine.
Hummingbird by BPZ is the platform Benjamin Philippe Zulauf used to release most of his music. Still, he has also worked with other record labels such as Claap Rec, Vekton Black and Fourier Transform.
“Le King Charbon” opens the release with its rotating bass notes and moody pads that glide between the kick and hi-hats. “Subtly Vibing” has poignant pads, offbeat rim shots, and a subtle acid line. “Exit Reality” has a trippy synth line and pitched tom drums that fuse with psychedelic acid licks and ethereal pads. “Honkytonks” has scratching hi-hats and crunchy claps layered with lurching stabs and uplifting pads.
Benjamin Philippe Zulauf’s ‘dɒɡɪd part II’ is available on 23rd June 2023. You can buy a copy HERE.
