Belgian techno talent Farrago recently announced that his upcoming album ‘Blesssed’ will be available on 19th May, whilst unveiling the first single ‘Addicted To Bass’ with his wife, Amelie Lens.
The producer and DJ’s bold expression, ‘Addicted To Bass’, includes Lens’ vocals. The track delves into moments of palpable tension, supplemented by low-end synths and different percussive elements.
Talking about the release, Farrago says: “‘Addicted To Bass’ was made on a particularly cold day last December. I wrote down the lyrics in my notes in the middle of the night after I woke up and wrote them in a dream (I know, sounds cliché. Me dreaming of making a great song is a recurring dream… I just rarely remember any of it when I wake up). The track came together quickly because the elements are fairly simple yet powerful because I wanted to leave a lot of room for the vocals…. The vocals are what makes this track so special to me; I’m very happy Amélie was able to nail the sentiment I had in mind with them so perfectly. I am blessed to be married to such a talented wife, and I’m honoured to have a collab track with her on my debut album.”
Featured as one of 11 songs on the upcoming album ‘Blesssed’, ‘Addicted To Bass’ takes the listener through a journey of blissful tones, classic techno and energetic psytrance beats.
Farrago’s record is like an aural journal, portraying the ideas generated after a stroke three years ago. Upon hearing the prognosis from the physicians that he may experience difficulties with his day-to-day activities, his creative abilities were severely impaired by his uneasiness. After he opened Ableton a year and a half later, all the songs on the album were eventually completed.
After a stroke three years ago, he decided to take on his ambitions without further delay. Due to still being in recovery, he shied away from creating music during the pandemic. His physicians warned him that he had experienced a major brain injury and questioned if this would impede his everyday existence. He was scared that he had misplaced his talent and lost the capability to make music. It wasn’t until almost two years later that he felt brave enough to open Ableton again.
