Rapidly rising Madrid producer, Alvaro AM, has been one of the most exciting prospects to emerge in Europe over the last few years. His unique brand of house music continues to impress following a string of high-profile releases on the likes of Desolat (Loco Dice), MOOD (Nicole Moudaber) and Stefano Noferini’s Deeperfect. He now releases his latest cut as he joins the bubbling Revival New York imprint, showcasing the powerful two-track Bloo EP.
Bloo opens with a series of driving and warping space-like synths that set the tone for this highly animated production. An underlay of warm and buoyant bass licks stamp their authority, which leads to a wonderful question and answer sequence. This peak time stomper is ideal for those underground basements and derelict warehouses. Verse poses a slightly different question with a more mesmeric tone. Still lively in its output, the wandering percussion with a hypnotic yet subtle vocal harmonise wonderfully with its rolling sub-bass and reverberating melodies. Primed for those sunrise moments.
About his Bloo EP, Alvaro told us, “I’m very happy to release my first EP on the great New York firm, Revival New York. It’s a new project with many high expectations for the future and great work behind it. This EP is very important to me because it reflects how I work in the studio a lot. The first cut, ‘Bloo’, contains a host of electronics and crazy sounds, and the melodies on the second track, ‘Verse’, remind me of just how beautiful it is to work on what you love. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do” – Alvaro AM.
Overall, Bloo EP is armed and ready for action. A deliciously contrasting two-tracker full of creativity, energy and vibrancy.
Out on Thursday 29th April.
