Electronic music lovers are set for a new cultural experience later this month, as a new and immersive museum is set to open deep in the heart of Amsterdam.
Our House will sit on the same grounds as ‘iT’ – one of the oldest dance music clubs in history. Set to open on October 29th, the space will showcase the history of electronic music across six individual exhibitions spaces and 15 installations.
Our House’s website reads: “Here at Our House, you are invited to express your pivotal memory with thousands of like-minded people and to share the mutual love for the sound that speaks to our hearts.”
Speaking about the new museum, its co-founder Jeroen Jansen, said: “together with more than 150 international artists, promoters, creatives, producers, curators, operators and DJs, we have worked for the last two years on the realisation of the collection.”
A series of interactive touchpoints will allow the museum’s patrons to get hands-on with instruments and players. You can also absorb a series of different photo galleries, documentaries, flyers, and a suggestion of what the future of dance music could look like.
Before leaving the museum, you will be taken through an especially significant exhibition segment – paying homage to “a culture and people, that have changed everything”. Named ‘The Culture Ride’, you can expect a 4D experience with contributions from iconic names – past and present – including Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, Armin van Buuren, Frankie Knuckles & more.
