The Pope was spotted leaving a record store in Rome, Italy on, Tuesday 11th January.
Pope Francis has become known for his desire to avoid utilising the security at his disposal for a grounded life, shunning bulletproof cars and visible police escorts. During his visit to the record store, he visited in a Fiat 500, driven by a Vatican employee.
The Pope is a fan of Beethoven, Mozart and Bach. The visit was supposed to be under wraps, but, by chance, a local reporter called Javier Martinez-Brocal happened to be nearby the StereoSound record store and witnessed the Pope’s visit.
Francis has since written a letter to the local reporter congratulating him “Thanks for doing your job, even if it did put the pope in difficulty.”
The letter further details how the Pope misses walking around the streets, from one parish to the next.
StereoSound is owned by the Pope’s long-time friends who gave Francis a box set of classical music CDs to enjoy.
