MusicWatch study reveals that 67% of music fans back COVID security measures

The report has revealed that most partygoers are already double jabbed.

67% of music fans back mandatory face mask-wearing and vaccination at gigs, according to a new study.

Music consumer research service MusicWatch has released a new study revealing that over two-thirds of music fans favour mandatory vaccines and the use of masks at live gigs.

The research surveyed 753 late-night revellers to find out their stance on COVID rules and implementations, as well as their desires and thoughts for the future of COVID safety measures.

In the same report, MusicWatch also revealed that just 6% of music fans wouldn’t visit a venue that has COVID safety rules in play, such as mask-wearing, negative tests, and proof of vaccination.

Of the 753 individuals, just 15% said they would trust people’s ‘common sense when entering a venue. In real terms, this means they would trust people to self-test before a night out.

Also revealed:

● 70% of music fans have already been double vaccinated

● 80% of the double vaccinated have already attended a show post-lockdown

The study also highlighted that 30% of those that remain unvaccinated would not attend a venue with COVID safety measures in place.

Vaccine passports were due to be introduced in England last month, but plans were scrapped by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. These plans are now part of a ‘plan B for England. Scotland has pushed forward with the plans as Nicola Sturgeon decided on her route for hospitality.
